ISCC — EU / PLUS / CORSIA
ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is a leading certification system verifying the sustainability and greenhouse gas performance of biomass, biofuels, circular and bio-based materials. It operates through three related schemes, each covering a different market and scope.
ISCC EU
Verifies sustainability and greenhouse gas performance for biofuels and bioliquids under the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED II/RED III). It confirms that feedstock has not been sourced from land with high biodiversity or high carbon stock, tracks GHG emissions savings along the supply chain, and is required for biofuel producers and suppliers wanting their product recognised across the EU market.
Benefits of ISCC EU
Compliance and expertise
ISCC is the leading sustainability certification system for renewable fuels with vast experience in the transport and energy sector.
By applying ISCC EU, business entities gain access to a variety of markets, including the European Union, the United Kingdom and Queensland (Australia).
ISCC PLUS
Extends ISCC certification beyond the EU regulatory market to circular and bio-based products globally, including bioplastics, chemicals, packaging, and food and feed raw materials. It gives companies a voluntary, market-driven way to demonstrate sustainable and traceable sourcing outside of EU biofuel regulation.
ISCC CORSIA
Recognised by ICAO (the International Civil Aviation Organization) for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) under the CORSIA scheme. It verifies low life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions and protection of high-carbon-stock land. ISCC CORSIA PLUS builds on this with additional social criteria and best-practice agricultural requirements for producers supplying the aviation sector.
Benefits of getting ISCC certified.
Whether it's ISCC EU, PLUS or CORSIA, certification brings the same core advantages to your business — market access, credibility, and a supply chain you can prove is sustainable.
Access to global markets
ISCC certification is recognised across the EU, UK and other markets adopting similar sustainability mandates, opening doors that uncertified suppliers simply can't reach.
Credibility & trust
As an internationally recognised scheme audited by accredited, independent certification bodies, ISCC gives customers and regulators verified proof of your sustainability performance — not just a claim.
Regulatory compliance & risk mitigation
Certification helps you meet requirements under frameworks like the EU Renewable Energy Directive and CORSIA, reducing the risk of penalties, rejected shipments or supply chain disruption.
Full supply chain traceability
ISCC's mass balance and chain-of-custody system tracks sustainable material from feedstock origin all the way through to the finished product.
Competitive advantage
More buyers and tenders now require sustainability certification as a condition of doing business — certification lets you compete for contracts that uncertified suppliers are locked out of.
Continuous improvement
Annual surveillance audits and an active integrity programme keep your systems current, catching gaps early rather than at a customer's expense.
